Client Care Technician--contingent
The Client Care Technician will provide direct and indirect care to clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. The role involves both clerical and clinical functions, requiring interaction with clients and support for office operations. Training will be provided, and experience in related fields is preferred.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
- Preferred experience: Patient Care Technician, Unit Clerk, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Office Manager, State Tested Nursing Assistant, Nursing Intern/Extern.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive information confidentially, and willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet agency needs.
Primary Duties:
Administrative Duties:
- Answer phones, greet clients, and schedule appointments as directed by the Physician or APRN.
- Explain screening processes to clients and record messages accurately and promptly.
- Route callers to voicemail when appropriate and ask approved COVID-19 related questions.
- Take client temperatures and handle crisis calls appropriately.
- Process prior authorization requests and update client information.
- Direct visitors, inform staff of waiting clients, and ensure lobby area cleanliness.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments, maintain social distancing, and adhere to Infection Control standards.
- Distribute health information to medical staff and handle office mail.
Clinical Duties:
- Administer injections, prepare drug samples, and perform TB screenings under supervision.
- Take vital signs, room clients, and assist in referrals to other medical facilities.
- Document client care activities, ensure client confidentiality, and record equipment checks.
- Order and manage medication samples, process client payments, and coordinate appointments for various programs.
- Collaborate with APRN and physician for client care and support office operations.
Team Leadership:
- Maintain schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
- Act as a liaison between medical assistants and the supervisor.
Training and Compliance:
- Participate in supervision, training, and conferences.
- Maintain certification requirements and document training and development.
