CRISIS STABILIZATION QUALIFIED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
Full Time (three 12-hour shifts)
Unison is looking for candidates interested in servicing the mental health field to join our comprehensive crisis care team in our voluntary, 16 bed, 24-hour stabilization unit. We are looking for passionate, dynamic individuals to provide direct care and support. Team members will work collaboratively with mobile crisis, law enforcement and other community partners.
This position provides direct services to clients with severe and persistent mental illness and/or a substance abuse diagnosis to assist in resolving or minimizing the client’s current crisis through a wide range of skills, including assessment, monitoring, crisis intervention, education, linking and training in community resources, assistance in daily living skills, and obtaining necessary services for meeting basic human needs and entitlements.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience working with individuals with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include alternate shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet program needs.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the needs of persons experiencing a psychiatric or substance abuse crisis.
- Must demonstrate individual and group therapeutic skills, knowledge of mental illness and substance abuse.
Primary Duties:
- Provides direct mental health services as appropriate per licensure to clients in accordance with the State mandates and established Agency and program policies, procedures, philosophy and the Individualized Service Plan.
