Unison Solutions, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company is a state-of-the-art manufacturer based in Dubuque, Iowa specializing in biogas fueled renewable energy systems.
Unison Solutions is seeking a specific qualified individual to join our A-TEAM (Assembly). This person needs to have the ability to use all types of hand and electric tools. Must possess the ability to mentally picture the outcome anticipating issues that may arise and having the capacity and ability to work past obstacles. This person must possess the ability to do very neat and aesthetically pleasing work. The job requires excellent communication skills to work with engineers and drafters to continually improve our product. This person needs to be self-motivated and creative in their work. Attendance and Punctuality are required to meet the quality expectations of this important role. The overall responsibility is assembling large pieces of equipment and piping systems for the treatment systems.
Job Summary
Summary: This individual will operate a variety of manufacturing and fabrication equipment, welding machines, power tools, overhead cranes, and forklift trucks, and perform various assembly and shop duties in a safe and effective manner.
Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Operate manufacturing and fabrication equipment such as welding machines, plasma torch, acetylene torch, milling machine, drill press, slip rolls, seam welder, band saw, sanding and polishing equipment, circular saw, forklift truck, overhead crane, etc.
- Read and follow CAD drawings.
- Assemble pipe, filters, large equipment, such as motors and compressors, vessels, instrumentation, tubing, and all other aspects of Unison’s equipment. This person may also be responsible for prepping, fitting, and tacking piping assemblies and/or vessel assemblies.
- Maintain the shop work area which includes, but not limited to, sweeping, putting tools away, and clearing pallets and cardboard from the shop.
- Perform all job functions in compliance with company safety program.
- Work toward continuous quality improvement
- Stay current with changing technology, including software and position/industry specific programs
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma/GED, some technical school or college training preferred
- Two or more years of experience as an Assembly Technician or comparable experience in the fields of manufacturing and fabrication preferred, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using welding machines, power tools, overhead cranes, and forklift trucks highly desirable.

Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour
