Roles and Responsibilities
- Strive to improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost.
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
- Design & implement necessary tooling & fixtures for manufacturing improvements.
- Create & maintain schedules to achieve project targets.
- Participate & Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action activity related to concerns that arise thru the manufacturing process.
- Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures & assure sustainability.
- Collaborate with design engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability and resolve issues.
- Drive continuous improvement activities for the team.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to employees and peers alike.
- Focus on tactical goals while not losing sight of strategic priorities.
- Develop solutions within a continuous improvement culture and team setting to achieve organizational goals.
- Engage peers and workforce to develop projects that impact the productivity of the team.
- Provide support to hourly team members and back-up support to front line leader .
- Time allocation: manufacturing floor (70%), office (30%).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology.)
- 3 years of experience with Production Processes and Equipment.
- Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership skills.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience including machining and welding.
- Automation, particularly CNC, and robotics project lead & experience.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to work in an area where there is moderate noise intensity (85 to 8-9 dBa).
- Ability to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust, fumes or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)).
- Ability to work extended hours when needed.
