We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in Alexandria, VA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor system performance on an ERP (PeopleSoft HCM) application to ensure that all systems are running optimally on multiple servers and environments. Use performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Responsible for identifying and resolving system issues, software bugs, and network connectivity problems.
- Create and manage user accounts and access permissions for various systems and applications.
- Ensure that all systems are secure by implementing security policies, monitoring potential security breaches, and responding to security incidents.
- Manage the configuration and operation of on-premises and cloud-based including provisioning and configuring cloud services, monitoring performance, and ensuring security.
- Research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Document all system configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure that the application is maintained and managed effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and objectives for ERP projects.
- Understanding of custom reports using system software.
- Perform system back up, disaster recovery and ensure system uptime/availability.
- Provide training to end-users on ERP system functionality, best practices, and new features.
Work Experience & Job Skills:
- General knowledge of ERP applications and how they work for various functional areas.
- Ability to speak both business process and technical process based on the audience that you are addressing, supporting, or working with.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Program Manager and team members to discover, document, design and implement business processes in an ERP application platform.
- Basic Project Management skills that demonstrate your ability to build, manage and execute upon a plan - both in terms of self-management as well as working with a team.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
The following are required:
- CompTIA Server
- CompTIA Security
- Maintains T5 Security Background Investigation, in order to obtain IT Level I access.
- Possess DOD Security Clearance of SECRET or higher.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
Travel:
- This is an onsite position in Alexandria, VA
Environmental Requirements:
- Mainly sedentary; in an office environment
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
- Flexible in working extended hours.
