What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Financial Operations Analyst position at Unisys?
- The client is seeking a FinOps Specialist/ Financial Operations Analyst to gather and analyze financial information.
- Responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
- Execute and manage AWS showback/chargeback processes, analysis, and communications including, forecasting practices, chargeback methodology, business unit budgets (baselines and transfers), coordination between FP&A/FinOps/Reporting teams, communication and Q&A to/from user community, trend/variance analysis, process documentation & controls, monthly close/reporting assistance.
- Processes are already established but require execution bandwidth for reinforcement, maintenance, controls, evolution, and continued change management.
- Resource will be supported by and take prescriptive direction from a knowledgeable FinOps and FP&A team, with opportunities to independently identify and implement continuous improvement.
- Role is expected to mature into a more independent and autonomous role with reduced oversight - and presents an opportunity for future conversion.
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
- Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Expert ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
- Expert knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required.
- An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
- 8-10 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
Must Have Skills:
- Familiarity with FinOps and AWS.
- Process and controls execution.
- Collaborates/coordinates cross-functionally.
- Executes tasks and existing processes with minimal oversight.
- Basic FP&A analytics.
- Ability to translate information into concise PowerPoint comms for executive consumption.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Deeper experience with AWS business chargeback and/or forecasting.
- Evidence of successful change management and communications support.
- Deeper process management experience (complexity/autonomy).
Deeper FP&A analysis experience.
