Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education Teacher to join our RE team. This role is essential in fostering spiritual growth and understanding among students of various ages. The ideal candidate will have a background working with children. Our ideal candidate is available Sunday's from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at least once a month in addition to some evening childcare for church events and/or classes.
Responsibilities
- Implement curriculum for religious education classes that align with the organization's mission and values.
- Lead engaging lessons that educate students about UU teachings, values, and practices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, helping them navigate their spiritual journeys.
- Assist in organizing and planning events related to religious education, including service projects.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members regarding progress and development.
- Support students and foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students to express their beliefs and questions.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity.
