This is a Culinary Health Fund Position
The primary purpose of this position is to advise and provide legal counsel to the Culinary Health Fund and Culinary Health Center(s) in Las Vegas (together “Fund”).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Provides legal counsel to the President of Las Vegas and management team with respect to Las Vegas business operations, business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations and perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
- Performs due diligence for potential transactions involving Las Vegas business operations
- Provides direction and management oversight to assigned functions (negotiating / preparing provider agreements, reviewing insurance arrangements, drafting lease agreements and addressing legal issues related to contract law) in the areas of budgets, operations, and staffing (selection, performance evaluation, coaching & development, etc.)
- Fosters and manages relevant professional and external colleague relationships with respect to legal matters plus manages the activities of outside legal counsel
- Leads activities related to development of recommendations requiring Trustee action and seeks timely resolution
- May deliver presentations to the Board of Trustees regarding areas of responsibility
- Responds to Trustee inquiries / questions timely and thoroughly
- Manages, tracks and measures contracts with provider partners and holds appropriate conversations regarding success of meeting established metrics
- Communicates effectively and collaboratively with internal and external legal counsel
- Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in fields of expertise
- Assists in responding to provider disputes
- Research and drafts memoranda regarding assigned issues
- Participates, as requested, in internal committees
- Has supervisory oversight of Risk Management Patient Safety Manager and paralegals
- Develops and implements department and employee goals, objectives, initiatives, and outcomes
- Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifies and evaluates trends and options choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes
- Identifies, implements and regularly monitors / reports key performance metrics
- Provides leadership in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving initiatives
- Plans, analyzes, and evaluates programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
- Supervises, leads, and delegates work and coaches, mentors, develops employees
- Analyzes problems, identifies, and develops alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendations / solutions
- Recommends hires and promotions, directs, and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
- Assists with developing and coordinating policies and procedures
- Responsible for the oversight of continued employee training requirements, safety, and quality initiatives
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Salary range for this position : Salary $133,300 - $173,200. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to : relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs) : Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement.
