This is a Culinary Health Fund Opening
The Participant Advocate II is a resource for participants of all Las Vegas Plans & LV National Plans, the Union and for internal Fund staff. The Advocate will offer assistance with regard to navigating and understanding the complex health system, assisting with understanding the “participant’s point of view” and communicating benefits and wellness.
Essential Job Functions And Duties
Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement. Shift: M-F 8am-4pm with some evenings and weekends, depending on events.

Essential Job Functions And Duties
- Conducts Advocacy either over the phone or on-site at the Union, in the Culinary Pharmacy and at various properties in order to educate participants, employers, and Union staff on the Fund’s benefits, eligibility rules and programs
- Serves as a back-up advocate at the Culinary Health Center when needed
- Participates in health fairs, benefit education programs, enrollment activities, surveys and other in-service activities as required
- Act as a resource person in health education
- Select and/or assist in the developing and maintaining educational resources on health and wellness topics for dissemination
- Educates, motivates and recruits participants regarding participation in Fund programs designed to improve health outcomes
- Provides input to management regarding concerns identified through various interactions with participants
- Assists with the identification of participants requiring follow-up services
- Conducts Home Visits to participants when needed
- Assists with complaint resolutions for all plans
- Input data into various databases
- Driving on Fund Business and/or Fund-owned or –leased vehicle
- Work outside traditional office hours as needed (for example evenings and weekends)
- Demonstrates the Fund’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) principles in their conduct at work and contributes to a safe inclusive culture with equitable opportunities for success and career growth
- Exemplifies the Fund’s BETTER Values in contributing to a respectful, trusting, and engaged culture of diversity and inclusion
- 3 ~ 5 years of related experience minimum
- Working knowledge and experience in a health care field and/or customer service type environment
- 1-2 years of experience working with a wellness program
- Experience working in the hospitality/food service industry preferred
- Familiarity with the participants’ cultural traditions and life experiences strongly desired
- Experience working with low-income and immigrant communities preferred
- Knowledge of health care benefits/programs, eligibility and plan design preferred
- Knowledge of Union environment preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required

Salary : $28 - $34
