PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant II will prepare financial statements for Las Vegas Plans, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow report and ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial periods. The Senior Accountant II will manage, and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support and conduct technical accounting research for complex accounting issues. The Senior Accountant II will identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. The Senior Accountant II will collaborate with management to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Fund’s financial records and support Treasury and other accounting and Finance functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Support the Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager on department projects and directing the other Finance department staff, including coordinating and reviewing work
- Record, classify and post details of business transactions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
- Responsible for reviewing and / or preparing of assigned journal entries for month end close
- Prepare and / or review significant account reconciliations and analysis, including balance sheet and income statement schedules, and evaluate transactions recorded for conformance to generally accepted accounting principles, identify and remediate reconciling items
- Performs and / or reviews monthly / quarterly / annual reconciliations with subsidiary / affiliated entities and third parties for settlement of balances
- Performs and / or reviews monthly / quarterly / annual allocation of expense including CAM charges amongst entities
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and other statements) and supporting schedules and ongoing ad-hoc reports as necessary to support the Finance department and other business functions
- Perform special analysis on financial data impacting business operations
- Identify accounting issues, handle advanced accounting research, and advise staff on proper accounting practices
- Conduct review of the work of accounting staff on day to day accounting activities
- Work with other support functions to obtain necessary information to prepare, analyze and input transactions related to assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense to the general ledger
- Work with AP function to ensure proper GL coding
- Prepare or review actual vs budget reports after month-end close
- Prepare board reports and compile final product for Board Meeting presentations
- Prepare regulatory filings within due dates
- Assist with the coordination and completion of annual financial statement and compliance audits
- Assist with the compilation of information necessary for the preparation of the organization’s Form 990
- Identify areas of process improvement within finance / accounting that contribute to efficient and effective workflows and work with finance staff to design and implement
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to accounting standards; etc.

Physical Requirements :
Salary range for this position : Salary $81,400 - $101,700. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to : relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs) : Monday~Friday, 8am – 4pm, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) hybrid.
