Job Brief:
We are seeking a dynamic, highly energetic leader who inspires both students and faculty to reach their educational and career goals set forth by Unitech Training Academy. This position also requires ensuring program accountability for specific academic metrics pertaining to student retention. Strong leadership skills are required to provide educational planning, preparation and training. The successful individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong instructor bench, mentoring instructors, advising students, and supporting program enrollment and retention. The Lead Instructor is responsible for performing all Instructor duties for courses taught according to the Instructor Job Description.
Job Description:
Coaching Duties:
Train and mentor all part time instructors by providing guidance, support and assistance in maintaining an appropriate educational atmosphere
Classroom Administrative Duties:
Prepare exams and maintain an accurate grade book
Prepare monthly progress reports for day and evening students
Responsible for ordering of classroom and lab equipment and supplies
Plan and schedule field trips, guest speakers for day and evening classes
Create daily lesson plans for all sessions in the program
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform all Instructor duties for courses taught according to the Instructor Job Description.
Enforce policy and procedures asset forth by Unitech Training Academy.
Establish and maintain a roster of subs for day and evening
Monitor student grades/attendance and input on a daily basis for assigned students
Assist in contacting students in all program sessions students who have absences
Advise day and evening students
Provide scheduled certification/licensure review classes
Ensure proper utilization of tests and instructor resources by publisher
Maintain functioning lab equipment and assure labs are properly stocked with supplies
Ensure OSHA and HIPAA regulations are followed
Evaluate and track progress of program frequently and communicate findings with the Director of Education and Director
Collaborate and communicate frequently with the Director of Education
Promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior
Establish a professional rapport that demonstrates professional and leadership qualities to students and staff
Attend staff meetings, job fairs, and other organization sponsored meetings and activities
Establish appropriate program Advisory Board members and conduct advisory meetings
Establish and maintain relationships within the community as it relates to clinical and career placement
Provide adequate content, pictures, videos to social media manager for your program
Assist in answering phones on scheduled basis to allow for executive secretary to have afternoon breaks
Provide program specific information to admissions representative on an ongoing basis
Support campus efforts in 90:10 initiatives
Substitute in classes when needed
Assess the instructional needs of students in the program and coordinate the development of a plan to address these needs, i.e. independent study, students needing accommodations
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, accreditation guidelines
Program chair for Pharmacy and Massage will coordinate the clinical experience for all students in these programs
Student tracking
Monitor the daily activity of Instructors and students
Ensure that students matriculate through their programs in an appropriate manner
Qualifications:
Candidate must have at least four years of field experience as a Medical Assistant or Nurse as well as an approved certification or licensure in instructional discipline. These requirements are mandated by the Louisiana Board of Regents for state approval. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
