Community Integration Academy Assistant/Driver- Adult Services

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:00pm 
United Ability, located in the Oxmoor area of Birmingham, is a program that provides a variety of services to adults with disabilities.  We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Community Integration Academy Assistant/Driver providing adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy various activities.   If you are someone who has a passion for helping people, someone who is energetic, and someone who is career-oriented and looking for more than just a “job”, then you have found your calling.  Each day teaching and caring for these individuals will allow you to see how much your work matters!

Collaborating with other team members, you will:
    Implement goals for each adult participant that include social, recreational, and vocational skills
    Plan and develop educational experiences
    Create curriculum and teach soft skills training to adult participants
    Assist in program activities and community outings
    Driving adult participants to various locations in the community
    Administer medication to adult participants through Medication Assistant Certification
Applicant general qualifications include:
    High school diploma or GED required
    Valid driver’s license required.  Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Report screening.
    Effective oral and written community skills
    Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
    Ability to work in a team setting
    Ability to lift 50 pounds
