United Ability is an organization that provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Physical Therapist- PRN for our Early Intervention team serving Etowah County. In this role you will be responsible for providing assessment and physical therapy for children with gross motor delays and/or needs to recover, develop or improve independent gross motor abilities so that children can reach their maximum independence. Collaborating with other team members, you will:
- Travels to appointments to visit children in the home, daycare or natural setting to evaluate the child and establishes a treatment plan to serve the child’s needs.
- Promotes maximum independence by implementing quality, individually designed treatment plans and activities.
- Fabricates adaptive equipment.
- Meets with caregivers to share results of evaluations and progress towards goals.
- Teaches and trains caregivers/classroom staff by demonstration/modeling of activities and providing a classroom/home program to promote maximum independence.
- Participates in staff meetings collaborating with team members/ support staff.
- Completes necessary documentation and billing.
Applicant general qualifications include:
- A valid Physical Therapy license for State of Alabama.
- Valid State of AL driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Experience working with children and families preferred.
