POSITION SUMMARY
As a Dock Supervisor at United Against Poverties Distribution Center (DC), you are a critical member of the DC team ensuring excellent product is provided to our members while operating an efficient and productive grocery program. The Dock Supervisor plays a major role in training and supervising staff and helping manage the Distribution Center. The Third Key Supervisor will be responsible for opening, managing, and closing the facility when the Distribution manager and Assistant Manager are not present, overseeing the dock support associate and loading dock and ensuring the operation runs smoothly.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Offloading all incoming deliveries via semi-trailer or box truck, while maintaining all temperature-controlled products.
Organizing and preparing the storage bays for incoming deliveries to ensure we operate with the FIFO system.
· Compile and maintain required documentation, including but not limited to BOL’s, shipping transfers, load manifests and donation forms.
· Product quality assurance control, knowledge of product temperatures, and holding temperatures.
Complete cleaning and maintenance of all UAP semi-trailers and box trucks after deliveries are completed.
· Monitoring all holding trailers to ensure proper temperature controls are in accurate, while maintaining the fuel levels. Ensuring all holding semi-trailers are refueled as needed.
· Ensuring all palletized products are staged and ready for shipment in a timely manner.
· Reporting all safety and security concerns immediately to management.
· Assisting with all other DC projects as needed.
ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
· Previous experience working in a similar management or dock supervisor, preferably in a warehouse setting.
· Detail oriented, able to compile and maintain all documentation, including but not limited to BOL’S, shipping transfer sheets, donation sheets, equipment maintenance inspections.
· Accurately Shipping and receiving product, keeping a neat clean working Dock area.
· Strong computer skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong knowledge of point-of-sale system.
· Positive attitude, even in the face of adversity.
· Ability to work well and collaborate with others.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
· Previous supervisor experience preferred.
· Forklift/ Pallet jack certified or certifiable.
· Must be able to work a flexible shift, including holidays and weekends.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Must be able to push, pull, bend and lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
