POSITION SUMMARY
As a Third Key Supervisor at United Against Poverty, you are a member of the critical first line ensuring excellent service is provided to our members while operating an efficient and productive grocery program. You play a major role in supervising staff on shift, resolving customer issues and helping manage the member share grocery program. In this role, you will be responsible for opening, managing, and closing the facility when the site manager and assistant manager are not present, overseeing the staff and ensuring the operation is running smoothly.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Opening and closing the facility when the grocery manager and assistant manager are not present.
· Supervising, train and coach all staff including cashiers, stockers and volunteers on site.
· Ensuring all payments received by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits are accurate and accounted for.
· Counting shift cash drawers to ensure accuracy and adequate change are provided. Reconciling sales receipts, voids, etc.
· Compile and maintain required documentation, including but not limited to receipts, voids, reports.
· Receiving and addressing customer concerns in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner and provide oversight to ensure that other staff do the same.
· Cleaning and resetting back room daily before end of shift, make sure that the room is ready to go for the next shift.
· Ensuring that daily goals are met, including pest control, merchandising, product processing, bulk displays, and pricing.
· Reporting all safety and security concerns immediately to management.
· Treat members, staff and volunteers with respect and dignity at all times.
· Preparing stock for distribution to shelves and bulk area while ensuring that storage areas are clean and organized.
· Assisting with all other MSGP department projects as needed.
ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
· Previous experience working in a similar third key position, preferably in a grocery or retail setting.
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Strong math and cash handing skills, ability to count change back accurately, ring transactions using a register and/or other point of sale system.
· Positive attitude, even in the face of adversity.
· Ability to work well and collaborate with others.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
· Previous supervisor experience preferred.
· Must be able to work a flexible shift, including holidays and weekends.
· SERVSAFE certification will be a required if not already obtained.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Must be able to push, pull, bend and lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
