What We’re Looking For:
Vision Research Park is looking for a Research Technician based in our Berthold, ND location to assist in a multi-faceted ag research and services operation. The ideal candidate will be hard working, self-motivated, and eager to learn. This person will be passionate about agriculture and motivated to expand Vision Research Parks’ research efforts to help area farmers improve their operation by providing accurate, reliable data. The Research Technician will conduct routine equipment maintenance and assist in seeding, harvesting, spraying, and collecting data from research plots. The research technician will collaborate with our team of research professionals to assess research needs and design effective plans to address them.
Required Duties, Responsibilities, and Proficiencies:
- Assist in the execution of research trials across the state of North Dakota
- Safely transport equipment to various trial sites across North Dakota
- Effectively coordinate and conduct planting, spraying, harvesting operations
- Execute the collection of plant and soil samples
- Organize and maintaining shop space
- Ensure necessary tools are available
- Maintain a clean and orderly shop
- Conduct routine maintenance on field equipment
- Must be a self-starter and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to gain basic proficiency in Ag Research Management (ARM) software
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Currently has or is capable of obtaining a CDL (commercial driver’s license)
- Currently has or is capable of obtaining a Certified Applicators Permit for the state of North Dakota
Minimum Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED with knowledge of farm equipment and agricultural practices in North Dakota
Preferred Educational Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher in the field of agronomy, biology, plant pathology, soil science.
Salary and Benefits:
Base Pay: $25/hour or more DoE
