Key Responsibilities :
The Director - Airport Operations (AO) Learning Design is responsible for coordinating the Airport Operations Supervisor and Lead training development teams. This role plays a pivotal role in the strategic development, continuous improvement, and successful implementation of top-tier, comprehensive training for airport operations leaders in over 350 stations worldwide. The Director will collaborate with leaders in business, technology, and HR to pinpoint business challenges and craft suitable learning solutions. They will keep abreast of the latest trends and innovative technology applications in corporate learning to inform United’s strategic direction in this area. This leader will also track performance metrics to gauge training efficiency and provide support to leadership at the station and regional levels for various training needs, including initial, recurrent, and specialized training sessions. A key responsibility includes leading, mentoring, and supporting the design team to assess resource management requirements and advocate for adequate staffing for initiatives. The ideal employee in this role will possess a solid background and a successful history in airport operations and training design, applying their expertise to improve learning outcomes for frontline employees.
- Oversee the innovative design of transformative leadership learning programs for all AO Supervisor and Lead operational groups
- Craft learning strategies to build capabilities and proficiencies and empower our talent to provide the best service to our customers
- Collaborate with business, HR, and customer leaders to pinpoint skill gaps, competencies, and development needs across departments
- Shape learning experiences to diverse learning styles, using the latest industry trends and standard processes
- Lead and influence a high-performing, cross-functional learning team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and service
- Integrate groundbreaking technology into our learning landscape.
