Key Responsibilities :
The Manager of AO Training Design is tasked with the comprehensive strategy, overall training design and coordination of delivery for training across system hubs, regional and line stations, and international operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that training programs are not only timely and of high quality but that the entire learning journey is tailored to the specific needs of the audience, aligns with United’s Next initiative, core4 values, and adheres to collective bargaining agreements. The manager oversees the assessment, design, and development processes for the final delivery stages while ensuring test administration and use of test results conform to company policies, legal and regulatory compliance, and ASTD standard requirements applicable to each country within the region. The role also involves leading a team of instructional designers who specialize in transitioning training from the design phase to delivery, ensuring a seamless handover. In addition to these responsibilities, the Manager plays a crucial role in facilitating organizational change, offering expert diagnoses, managing transitions, setting integrated change agendas, and conducting interventions that range from small to large groups, all aimed at enhancing the organization’s training capabilities and effectiveness.
- Implements strategies to ensure training programs are timely, of high quality and within the station’s training budget
- Manages a team of instructional designers to support the delivery of all airport operations curricula
- Identifies training needs and coordinates delivery of frontline training programs
- Drives learning capabilities to maximize resources, increase speed to proficiency, and reduce costs
- Partner with AO Learning Delivery Manager in support of shared training services, distribution of materials, facility and equipment management, enrollment and training tracking support within the Learning Network
- Cultivates environment to attract and develop a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team
