Key Responsibilities :
The Principal - UA for Business Events supports the strategic planning and execution of highly visible United for Business events. The position requires event planning expertise including sourcing, contract negotiation, logistics management and detailed execution. The Principal will support the Senior Manager in planning and implementing large customer and internal events.
- Detailed record keeping, event tracking, and scheduling. Adhere to strict budget. Responsible for post-event reconciliation.
- Create event execution plan for onsite team with timelines, assignments, set up notes, meeting locations, etc. Provide on-site support to ensure successful meeting execution. Handle all logistical event components including hotel specs, rooming lists, registration, attendee lists, audio visual, transportation, etc.
- Site and source various venues; provide recommendation to internal partners.
- Serve as single point of contact for all event collaborators (internal and external teams or vendors). Review, manage, and negotiate contracts with external vendors (production, event decor, food & beverage, hotels, transportation, entertainment, AV, special supplies / materials).
- Draft event email communications.
Note : This position provides for a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements up to 50% of the time in Chicago, IL. This position will also be expected to travel up to 30% of the time.
