SUMMARY
The Yard Driver supports United Alloy’s production operations by ensuring efficient movement of large products, including work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods, using flatbed or dry van trailers. This role is critical to maintaining smooth workflows by safely maneuvering vehicles and adhering to production schedules.
SHIFT
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (overtime as required)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Safely operate yard spotter trucks and trailers to transport materials within the yard and facility.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient yard operations.
- Maintain accurate records for WIP and finished goods, ensuring compliance with all documentation requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and update maintenance logs.
- Provide training and support to new team members as needed.
- Follow all UA and ISO standards in daily operations.
- Perform additional duties to support team objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Current or previous Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements preferred.
- Proven experience as a yard driver or similar role in logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong driving skills with a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics and safe maneuvering techniques.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally (with assistance).
