United Aluminum Corporation, a specialty rolling mill in North Haven, CT, with unique rolling, annealing, and slitting capabilities, has produced Custom Rolled® Aluminum Coil since 1915. United Aluminum’s modern and clean facility is conveniently located off I-91 and the Merritt Parkway in North Haven, CT.
We have an exceptional opportunity for a PowerBuilder Software Developer/Analyst to create, modify and support software applications in PowerBuilder 2022 or higher, and able to analyze, develop and support SQL stored procedures and triggers in SQL Server. Preferred candidates will have 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment and will have prior experience using .Net.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, modify and support software applications in PowerBuilder 2022 or higher.
- Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process or Agile process.
- Gather requirements from end users and analyze them.
- Create a design document and prototypes/mockups to review the potential solution with end users.
- Program the changes in PowerBuilder and SQL Server.
- Coordinate with end users in the testing and deployment of application changes.
- Support of existing PowerBuilder applications and data that our business relies on every day.
- Coordinate with developers using Powerbuilder Source Control
- Integrate DLL functions, Windows API’s, and Active X controls
- Trouble shoot production problems.
- Be inquisitive and self-motivated.
- Provide and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Lead and manage technology projects.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical audience.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
- Must have analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Work in a team-oriented environment.
- Working with PowerBuilder Source Control.
- Working knowledge of .Net Core and C# is preferred.
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Three to five years of working experience in PowerBuilder version 2021 or higher, and SQL Server 2019 or higher.
- Working experience in C# and Angular is preferred.
- Working knowledge of .Net is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience in working of EDI is preferred.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Degree in an IT capacity and 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing environment are desired.
