What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator - Tube Winder position at United Ammunition Container, Inc.?
It is the Tube Winder Operator's purpose to convert raw paper material into fiber containers ready to be finished by the next stages of production.
Duties and responsibilities
- Uses a foot operated hydraulic lift to load master rolls of paper onto paper stand
- Threads paper from parent roll through rollers and guides and tapes end to previous roll
- Adjusts guides, mandrel and paper sizes to achieve proper side wall thickness per specs
- Regulates application of glue
- Operates machinery to automatically form paper into tubing for containers
- Monitors product for quality conformance per product specs
- Adjusts machine to correct any issues
- Reports any quality issues to department leader
- Keeps machinery and workstation clean
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous Experience in Production Setting preferred but not required
- Manual Dexterity
- Physical Strength to hold, push, lift or carry up to at least 15 pounds and the ability to control material up to 50 pounds with buddy assistance
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, pay careful attention to detail and work safely
Working conditions
Job is located indoors in a climate-controlled facility. Standing for extended periods of time is required and job involves manual labor including, but not limited to, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying.
