DUTIES:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models for pricing, underwriting, fraud detection, retention, and marketing
- Work collaboratively with Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing teams to translate business problems into analytical solutions
- Build and maintain robust modeling infrastructure and best practices to ensure model accuracy, scalability, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor model performance and retrain as needed based on evolving data and business conditions
- Support rate filings with model documentation and regulatory communication
- Mentor a team of analysts and modelers, fostering innovation and continuous learning
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or related field required
- Master’s degree in actuarial science, applied mathematics, data science or quantitative finance is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in predictive modeling, preferably in P&C or auto insurance
- Expertise in statistical modeling techniques (GLMs, tree-based models, machine learning)
- Experience with Python, R, SQL, and cloud-based data environments
- Familiarity with the non-standard auto insurance market in Florida and Texas is a strong plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex models to business stakeholders
