This position ensures the smooth and efficient handling of accounts payable, expense reports, and daily financial operations. SCOPE:
The Financial Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the Finance Operations team by processing and maintaining financial records and documents. This position ensures the smooth and efficient handling of accounts payable, expense reports, and daily financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high level of organization, attention to detail, and communication in all aspects of their work.
DUTIES:
- Process and Maintain Financial records and Documents
- Key Accounts Payable batches as requested
- Expense Reports
- Electronic Data records
- Daily Mail for the Finance Department
- Depositing Daily Checks received
- Postal distribution of Accounts Payable checks, and any overnight mailing needed
- Maintain Accounting requests inbox for all copies of drafts requested
- Support Finance Operations team for all in office needs
- Maintain effective communication as requested with vendors. Ensure that all communications are professional, clear, and conducive to achieving goals
- Ensure that all Finance activities are conducted in compliance with company policies. Stay informed of changes that may impact the Finance Department practices
- Work towards meeting or exceeding individual and team goals, ensuring that all potential cost saving opportunities are maximized with Finance Operations Team
- Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, including process improvement efforts, system upgrades, or training programs
- Assist other departments as needed, provide your expertise in the Finance Operations department, and contribute to overall company goals and objectives
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an office environment, preferably in insurance or a related field
- Strong computer proficiency, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management software
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with property and casualty insurance terminology and processes is a plus
