What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Maintenance Technician position at United Aviate Academy?
Duties / Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft
- Maintain work environment to ensure safe, clean, and orderly aircraft hangar
- Ensure safe and legal practices in accordance with FAA and United Aviate policy and regulations
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals
Being alert for defective, worn, or failed parts as well as safe working conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Experience
Aircraft Maintenance Technicians will need strong mechanical ability and skills. Will be required to solve mechanical problems quickly and must have the physical ability to move about when working on airplanes. An aptitude for working with complex equipment and understanding technology is necessary.
Education
The FAA requires mechanics working on airplanes to be certified. Requirements to be a certified mechanic through the FAA for a U.S. citizen include :
