What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Analyst position at United Bank of Iowa?
As a member of the United Bank of Iowa team, this position assists the V.P. Compliance in the administration of the compliance program which ensures adherence to banking regulation through the implementation of audit, monitoring, and training programs. It also ensures that applicable compliance and loan review controls and procedures are established and operating effectively. Sells and promotes all bank services in such a way as to enhance the bank's image within the community.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Strong reading, writing and verbal skills to effectively present information, and respond to questions from customers, prospective customers, employees, and supervisees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:
Comprehend and understand bank operations, policies (manuals), and procedures.
Interpret and apply compliance laws and regulations.
Analyze and interpret banking regulation.
Independent judgment to recognize and maintain confidential information.
Recognize and reconcile problems following established guidelines.
OTHER SKILLS:
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers & co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.
Good understanding of computer related operations.
Familiarity with standard office equipment such as calculators, typewriters, copy machines and fax machines.
Problem solving skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software to generate correspondence and reports.
