Job Summary:
Provides support to the Accounts Payable department by assisting with the day-to-day accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and contributing to the smooth and timely processing of payments. General Description/Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide general administrative support to the Accounts Payable department, including handling phone inquiries, data entry, and preparing reports as needed.
- Verify proper authorization, payment amounts, and proper entry to general ledger accounts including the allocation of expense to the appropriate cost center.
- Verify that all necessary approvals and supporting documentation are attached to invoices before processing payments.
- Assist in the processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Help maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry and payment documentation.
- Communicating with outside vendors, bank officers and departments regarding the status of their payment requests.
- Position will be required to comply with all Federal and State banking laws and related regulations, to include but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Effective project and time management skills.
- Flexible, able to start, stop and change tasks as needed.
- Effective and grammatically correct written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in the field of accounting and finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Must be willing to cross train and complete other assigned duties.
