Summary: As a Benefits Administrator you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely benefit calculations for participants of the Co-op Retirement Plan ("RetireMint"), a 401(a) Defined Benefit Plan. A competitive candidate will work will in a team, be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Role Responsibilities:
· Learn and support daily functions of the Co-op Retirement Plan (“RetireMint”), a 401(a) Defined Benefit Pension Plan
· Accurately enter, process, review, and complete benefit estimates and payments for plan participants
· Review and verify participant paperwork and communicate any issues directly with the participant.
· Execute exceptional customer service in answering phone calls and e-mails from participants and co-ops regarding the Plan, answering questions and processing estimates as requested
· Develop and deliver verbal and/or written communications related to pension benefits and/or plan options, benefits, eligibility, and other plan features
· Provide timely responses to participant and co-op requests
· Work collaboratively with other Benefits Administrator and members of the Benefits team to ensure compliance with process standards
Skills/Qualifications:
· High school diploma required
· Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Able to manage one’s own caseload and deadlines
· Able to multi-task with dependability, accuracy, and sense of integrity
· Ability to take good notes and adapt to a changing work environment
· Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
· Commitment to professionalism and compassionate service
· Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively with members of other departments, and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues. This includes working with in-person and virtual teammates.
· Ability to adapt to regulatory and legislative changes on employee benefits, with an eagerness to learn.
· General knowledge of retirement concepts desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
