General Description: The Controller at United Beverage, Inc. oversees financial systems and ensures the creation of GAAP-compliant financial reports, accurate data entry, and the development of budgets and benchmarks. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Generate GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports in a timely manner each month.
- Provide insights on EBITA, gross margins, and financial performance by location, product line, and department.
- Offer financial analysis for decisions related to capital investments, pricing, and business growth.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee A/R, A/P, inventory, payroll, and cash management for accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile accounts monthly, ensuring alignment with physical inventory.
- Calculate and report on variances, discrepancies, and irregularities, making recommendations for corrective actions.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Manage risk through insurance coverage and documented processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including timely tax calculations, reporting, and payments.
- Office Management & HR Compliance:
- Lead a team of 3-4 office staff to deliver exceptional customer service and data accuracy.
- Oversee employee benefits, performance reviews, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage IT systems, secure facilities and vehicles, and ensure daily data backups.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and monitor metrics for operational efficiency.
- Implement improvements in processes and reporting systems to enhance productivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and leadership roles.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Encompass, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform general office duties, including working at a computer and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
- Travel as required (approximately 5% regionally).
