TITLE: Job Developer
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
DEPARTMENT: Supported Employment
SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Job Developer will apply techniques of job development and marketing to provide individualized job skills training and placement for persons with varying disabilities in community sites.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: One semester of college course work (15 units) in a behavioral science field such as psychology, education, special education, social services, rehabilitation or related field, with a minimum of two years of experience providing direct community integration and work services to individuals with disabilities. Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
Language Ability: Ability to read and analyze a variety of documents. Must be able to write and communicate complex information within the scope of job functionality. Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers who may be language or speech impaired .
Math Ability: Knowledge and ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Computer Skills: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, must have good internet research skills.
Driving Skills: Must possess a valid CDL and have clean driving record as well as operate a vehicle in good working order for employee transportation. Must have proof of ongoing auto insurance on personal vehicle.

DUTIES:
Work effectively in a variety of integrated work settings. Perform a wide range of basic job skills that consist of but are not limited to making direct and indirect job development contacts with potential employers, maintain good work relations with private sector businesses, perform environmental job and task analysis. Teaches specific job tasks to disabled individuals using a wide range of teaching techniques. Maintains up-to-date record keeping and data collection for each consumer as required by the Department of Rehabilitation and Department of Developmental Services. Serves as an advocate for consumers and participates in ISEP meeting, training sessions and other events related to the project, as required. Any other duties as assigned by the program manager.
