We are looking for On-call Substitute Teachers to assist in our 5 star Early Learning Center located off of 19th Ave. and Deer Valley. The ideal candidate loves working with kids, is a team player, and wants to make a difference in the lives of our children. This position provides support among all classrooms and is set as an on-call position where we will reach out to you in times of need to provide coverage for teachers experiencing illness or are out on vacation.
- Hours will be variable based on scheduling needs.
- Candidates must be able to respond to requests within a timely manner, often with little notice to start a shift.
- Some hours will be scheduled to help during planned vacations and time off.
- Attend team meetings and paid trainings as need to meet compliance.
- Classroom assignments may vary from children aged infants through five.
Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the daily maintenance of children’s rosters, changing logs and daily reports.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining current displays of children’s work and monthly classroom bulletin boards with depictions that reflect an anti-bias curriculum and multi-cultural respect.
- Interact with the children, with respect, affection, and at their eye level.
- Use appropriate guidance techniques with children, defining and maintaining, clear, consistent and fair limits for classroom behavior, using redirection and encouragement of appropriate behavior.
- Establish and maintain regular communication with children’s parents.
- Maintain 24 hours of trainings within a 12-month period, including, but not limited to: Infant & Child First Aid and CPR, universal precautions, child health and safety, child growth and development, child guidance, childcare environment and other recommended trainings.
- Maintain current training in pediatric CPR & First Aid, and food handling.
