Job Summary:
The Family Engagement Coordinator (FEC) will promote and increase family engagement and family voice at UCP Charter Schools in collaboration with the Enrollment/Intake Specialists and Clinical Team. The FEC will support parents and develop programs and opportunities to connect new and returning families to the school community. This is a part-time position supporting UCP Charter School Local Education Agent (LEA) Orange County, 6 school campuses.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct a needs assessment and develop and implement a comprehensive parent engagement plan to increase parent engagement throughout the Charter LEA.
- Schedule, conduct, and coordinate parent workshops, meetings and events on topics identified by and for parents to promote family involvement in students’ education.
- Ensure parents are equipped to actively support their children’s academic journeys through targeted initiatives.
- Contribute monthly to the Unlocking Conscious Parenting Newsletter and on-going communication via social media providing tips, strategies and creative ideas to parents that impact their student’s learning.
- Maintain records of parent engagement activities including Title I documentation and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Work with clinical counselors and school leadership to develop and implement attendance incentive programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the charter school network and parents, facilitating communication and strengthening the collaborative bond between parents and the school.
- Perform other duties as needed across the network of schools.

Qualifications
Education and Training: (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred – social work or related.
Minimum Experience:
- 2 years’ experience working with parents (paid or volunteer)
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience coordinating events/workshops
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Salary : $20 - $22
