Social Worker FT or PT

Immediate Full Time or Part Time Opportunity

Candidate with be an advocate for all participants of ICF programs and act as a liaison with state and federal agencies, parents, guardians, day treatment and habilitation programs.

Will be a part of an interdisciplinary team providing a spectrum of services which will be provided to the residents through the use of social work methods directed towards maximizing the social functioning of each resident.

Responsibilities include staff training, family support services, individual evaluations and record keeping.

Knowledge of ICF regulations and OPWDD experience a plus.

Master's degree (M.A.) or Bachelors Degree in Social work and 1-3 years related experience and/or training required.

Valid and current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license preferred

Education and/or Experience

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent from an accredited School of Social Work and hold a current NYS license.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting, transferring, and transporting may be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
