UCP Preschool is seeking a part-time teaching assistant. Hours are 8:00-11:45 Monday-Thursday.
We seek enthusiastic candidates who enjoy having fun and love being around children to join our preschool staff. As a teaching assistant, you will spend your days assisting the Lead Teacher to create a fun learning environment for children. You will work in a preschool classroom focusing on inclusive, play-based learning and be part of a multi-discipline team of early childhood specialists.

Requirements:Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to support children while taking direction from lead teacher
- Ability to use effective teaching/learning strategies that promote each child’s skill acquisition in all areas of development
- Positive, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift non-ambulatory children
- Ability to obtain/maintain Infant Child First Aid/CPR/AED and individual child training to provide care procedures

- Implements a learning environment that provides consistent routines and structured transitions, clear and consistent behavioral expectations, consistent responses, helps children be independent, conveys children are valued and cared for, and builds overall community
- Creates a playful atmosphere that encourages child curiosity, child-initiated and student-led activities, and an enthusiasm for learning
- Engages in purposeful engagement and interaction with children
- Uses effective teaching/learning strategies that enhance skill acquisition in all areas of development
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of classroom, toys/equipment, motor spaces, storage areas, and hallways
