Job Description :
United Charter High Schools for Advanced Math and Science III (AMS III) is a small, tuition-free charter high school located in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. The Dean & Culture Coordinator at AMS III is responsible for providing open and consistent lines of communication with the student body, parents, and the community throughout the school year and during the summer. This individual is also responsible for supporting the success of scholars in the classroom by developing strong culture systems in concert with restorative practices.
Essential Job Functions are related to School Culture and Student Engagement :
- Implement, develop, and reinforce Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) and use data to determine next steps for all stakeholders; collaboratively ensure school wide adherence to PBIS routines. Examples include but are not limited to uniform policy, timeliness, code of conduct, etc.
- Use appropriate restorative practices (restorative circles, conversations, mediations, etc.) to respond to student behavioral issues in a timely manner to support student development in conflict resolution
- Serve as a point person for discipline issues in the school.
- Assist in and lead the implementation of student reward and recognition programs.
- Support school-wide policy, procedures and protocols in response to academic and behavioral needs of students.
- Serve as a resource to teachers on issues of school culture, classroom management, discipline, and relationships with students; and help teachers and staff in holding all students to high and consistent behavioral expectations.
- Assist in and lead the implementation of behavior management tools, including facilitating staff training in behavior management policies, techniques, strategies, and related data, as well as ensuring the consistent use of chosen strategies in classrooms throughout the school.
Minimum Qualifications :
Pay : $57,500.00 - $77,500.00 per year
