What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate 2 position at United Community Action Network?
To assist the Warehouse Supervisor with the coordination of the flow of food and products to and through the Emergency Food Bank Network in a safe, timely and equitable process. In partnership with other Warehouse Associate position(s), this position is also responsible for the operation of the Outpost Mobile Food Center trailer, our mobile pantry, and stocking its storage area located in the main warehouse and receiving/weighing/transporting and recording donations received through the Fresh Alliance Program and other businesses/partners/individuals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. These duties are a representative example of position expectations. Actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on the business needs of the department and the agency.
- Have products ready for distribution; pull and palletize USDA and agency orders; load agency vehicles; provide quality customer service to agency personnel and donors.
- Accurately count, track, weigh and document incoming and outgoing inventory and donations within the warehouse and the Fresh Alliance Program. Loads/Unloads and organizes products in the warehouse. Sort all products and assure all materials are ready for each day’s pick-ups.
- Operate using Primarius the computerized inventory system. This is to include receiving deliveries, monitoring orders, allocating and distributing product. Know all phases of the system.
- Help maintain extremely organized and efficient warehouse using best practices. Keep loading areas clean and organized; eliminate hazards. Ensures food safety during transport and resolves food handling problems.
- Assist as needed with Fresh Alliance pickup, deliveries and processing of food drives, donations, and special events. Support UCAN Feeding Umpqua events as needed.
- Work on Mobile Pantry as needed and oversee operations including loading and unloading the trailer, maintaining food inventory, maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards, setting up and taking down tables and canopy at distribution sites, assisting volunteers with distribution of food, and treating all clients with dignity and respect.
- Safely operate the Mobile Pantry truck and trailer including driving to distribution sites, conducting safety checks, cleaning the outside and inside, and scheduling any necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Provide support to Feeding Umpqua and Outpost volunteers, ensuring safety in lifting, client intake, and warehouse work.
- Cross-train with other food bank personnel to learn additional skills and to be able to cover during co-worker absences.
- Actively attend and participate in all Food Bank Team activities and Agency-wide activities.

- Drive a company vehicle in the performance of duties. Driving will be required for travel to pick up food donations and to perform other essential functions as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Qualified candidates for this position will have relevant education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions and meet the minimum performance expectations for this position with or without an accommodation.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations; basic knowledge of general office practices and procedures and computer use; understanding of issues faced by community members experiencing poverty or facing food insecurity.
- Skill in customer service, safe operation of equipment which includes forklift and agency vehicles; use of automated equipment and systems. Work in a safety conscious manner at all times.
