About the Role: Join our team as a Loan Operations Flood Insurance Specialist and play a pivotal role in ensuring our loans are protected with the necessary flood coverage. You'll interact with customers and collaborate with colleagues across all business lines within the Bank.
What You’ll Do:
- Assess & Validate: Evaluate Make, Increase, Renewal, or Extension (MIRE) events for adequate flood insurance in line with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA).
- Manage Due Diligence: Complete flood due diligence tasks promptly and accurately.
- Ensure Data Accuracy: Maintain precise data in our system of record.
- Flood Zone Determinations: Gather and assess information for Flood Zone Determinations.
- Coverage Calculations: Determine appropriate flood insurance coverage requirements.
- Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for flood insurance and coverage queries.
- Compliance: Ensure loans and insurance adhere to all flood-related policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication: Liaise with lenders, credit partners, and clients to confirm coverage.
- Monitoring: Track and oversee the flood review process for all loan types daily.
- Support: Provide ongoing assistance to lending staff regarding flood insurance questions.
- Research: Handle flood map changes, updates, and research.
- Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as assigned.
- Training & Development: Participate in compliance training and other educational programs.
- Professionalism: Uphold the bank’s vision, mission, and culture with professionalism.
- Client Service: Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients with urgency and positivity.
- Organization & Time Management: Balance multiple priorities to meet deadlines effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in loan documentation, due diligence, and processing.
- Familiarity with retail and commercial lending regulations, especially flood insurance under the FDPA.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication with lenders and LOAs across all business lines.
- Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of flood insurance requirements.
- Understanding of loan documentation.
Position Type: Full-time role with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Travel: Up to 5% travel required.
