United Community is in search of a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a Senior Portfolio Manager  you will oversee and manage larger commercial credits. This role ensures the commercial loan portfolio meets soundness, profitability, and growth objectives. The ideal candidate will provide credit, underwriting, and sales support within the Commercial Lending function to maximize portfolio performance while serving as a secondary contact on client relationships.

What You’ll Do: 

• Manage all aspects of a commercial loan portfolio, including annual reviews, compliance, and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with local leadership to maintain a balanced risk profile in the market loan portfolio.
• Exercise credit authority as designated by senior management.
• Lead and mentor a team of credit specialists, portfolio managers, and analysts.
• Oversee workflow delegation and ensure the timely preparation of credit memos, financial spreads, and reports.
• Actively engage in all aspects of the loan process, including client interaction, underwriting, and credit approval.
• Identify and collect essential data to analyze credit requests effectively.
• Prepare commitment letters and review loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as a secondary contact for key client relationships, fostering strong customer engagement.
• Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities with both new and existing clients.
• Support and coach team members in developing business acumen and client relationships.
• Proactively assist lenders in prospecting efforts and participate in client calls as needed.

Requirements For Success:

• 7-10 years of experience in financial services with a focus on commercial lending.
• In-depth knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation.
• Proven expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex financial statements and tax returns.
• Strong analytical skills to assess financial health and identify strengths and risks.
• Ability to prepare and present comprehensive credit analysis reports.
• Extensive experience with various loan structures and credit recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and senior executives.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities in a high-performance environment.
• Proficiency in internal banking systems and reporting tools.
• Commitment to compliance training and adherence to industry regulations.
