Senior Collector
The Senior Collector’s main purpose is to collect past due contract payments & fees through normal collection efforts as defined by procedures, while maintaining respectful & professional communications.
REPORTS TO: Collection Team Lead
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a working knowledge of the types of financing contracts used: loans, leases, purchase orders.
- Attempt to contact all assigned contracts daily; priority contracts, as defined by management must be worked daily.
- Send letters/emails/texts as required by procedures.
- Escalate through collection procedures timely.
- Negotiate past due fees, within approval authority guidelines.
- Responsible for projecting delinquency of assigned contracts each month.
- Input payments received over the phone into the system for processing.
- Determine when a contract is uncollectable and recommend transfer to Recovery/Legal.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: (Contract Management Systems; Microsoft Office).
