What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Director position at United Construction and Forestry?
This position is responsible for profitably directing and controlling the activities of the Rental Operation, so that the established goals and growth objectives of the company are achieved.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, schedules and controls the Rental activities to achieve the budgeted sales margins, income and expense goals.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers with managing the Rental Department metrics and utilization goals.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers in managing manufacturing, pricing and marketing of rental units.
- Assists VP of Inventory in managing and optimizing aged inventory control.
- Assists Regional Sales Managers in managing conversion sales and DORF out strategy.
- Manages labor, maintenance and repair costs as low as possible while maintaining product quality and meeting product demand requirements.
- Manages DORF to meet target metrics by model and overall market share goals.
- Manages updates & enforces rental policies and procedures to insure competitiveness, including Rental Returns and customer damage billing.
- Assists SMs with training Sales Coordinators, Equipment Coordinators, and Yard Specialists in rental policies, procedures and processes.
- Manages policy adjustments.
- Manages updates and enforces rental rates to ensure competitiveness and to optimize the economics of each model utilizing Rouse and industry data.
- Manages rental fleet expenses.
- Prepares revenue forecasts accurately, completely and timely.
- Manages the activities of the Rental Coordinator, as well as assigns their duties and responsibilities
- Monitors and tracks Rental equipment inventory, utilization and productivity, support product costing, and provides data for activity and operations reports accurately and timely and maintaining operating expenses within budget.
- Ensures equipment and facilities in good repair. Ensures they are clean and in good order and recommends changes, which may be available to meet operational and quality requirements.
- Establishes and implements maintenance record keeping to adequately monitor equipment usage, inspections, repairs and maintenance costs.
- Ensures purchased products are delivered as contracted.
- Ensures usage is reported, as required, for tax purposes, revenue and product costing.
- Ensures all vehicles are secured in a manner to prevent damage and loss.
- Ensures all personnel follow the environmental safety form on each rental to protect Company personnel against harm.
