Job Purpose
The Lab Assistant is responsible for supporting Laboratory and Shipping/Receiving
operations by adhering to safety protocols and established procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and label samples for testing
Assist in test setups and equipment installation/maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair test equipment
Procure and maintain PPE, test accessories, and facilities inventory
Maintain organization and cleanliness in the lab and warehouse
Perform preventive maintenance on test equipment
Pick up and drop off test samples and equipment at vendor locations
Pull, Package and ship items
Move and maintain active and passive inventory physically and in ERP system
Assist in receiving and storing items
Assist in facilities maintenance activities
Create shippers and export documentation
Request quotes from vendors
Maintain hazardous materials and SDS properly
Dispose hazardous materials per EPA regulations
Assist in test data collection and reporting
Tag and maintain nonconformance items
Communicate order status updates with other departments
Keep the lab and warehouse safe by following safety procedures
Perform administrative and data entry activities
Requirements
Qualifications
High School Graduate
Minimum 2 years of experience working in warehouse or laboratory
environment is preferred
Ability to lift 25 lbs, bend over, walk, reach overhead, step on a small ladder.
Pass a J1 eye test.
Be able to work in office, warehouse and laboratory environment
Ability to operate Forklift
Must have good organization and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and work under strict quality controls
Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work late hours, weekends, or holidays as required
