Branch Manager
Role:
To direct the operations of a medium sized, remote Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans. Has limited lending authority.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% - Directs, develops, motivates, hires and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
20% - Underwrites consumer loans up to the amount assigned by the Executive Vice President; reviews and makes decisions on applications from subordinate personnel. Assists members with opening new accounts and certificates. Places order for daily cash requirements for branch.
15% - Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and insures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
10% - Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, community organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups. Ensure the credit union has a positive presence in the community that fosters goodwill and growth for the branch. Engage employees to become active in the community.
10% - Reach board set goals for your branch on member growth, deposit and loan growth, delinquency and charge offs.
5% - Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings.
5% - Monitors all branch activities to insure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
5% - Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff, sufficient to meet needs of members.
2. To note observations of employee performance into Performance Pro, as well as, give to and receive feedback from employee on the same no later than 15 working days following each quarter. Complete all performance reviews by December 15.
3. To provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
4. To ensure all documentation is completed, with a minimum of 90% accuracy rate.
5. To meet or exceed the minimum of the established incentive goals each period and achieve 80% of all thier individual goals.
6. To develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring trends in operations and deposit services.
7. To sell GAP and Warranty insurance to 30% and Debt Protection to 40% of all new qualified loans. Promote a cross sales culture within the branch, both by example and training employees to identify opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills:
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills
Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
