Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and stocked foodservice area within a United Dairy Farmers store. This position requires knowledge of foodservice programs, product offerings, equipment, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and efficient operation of the store by following company policies and adhering to all laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and maintain a high level of honesty and ethics in daily work.
- Responsible for the execution of foodservice programs, including product offering, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
Essential Functions
- Turn on Roller Grill, stock products according to the Production Guide, and ensure all products are correctly dated and food-safe.
- Maintain product availability for prepared food areas Monday-Friday and prepare the DipSide area in the morning to have ice cream stocked.
- Stock foodservice products, condiments, supplies, and other components (either through completing orders or informing Management).
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in the food preparation area, Fountain area, and Hot Beverage area.
- Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) System efficiently, accurately register all transactions, and handle cash levels in the register.
- Minimize shoplifting and gas drive-offs by controlling cash levels and participating in Tobacco-Alcohol Management and Robbery-Violence Deterrence programs.
- Document temperatures and maintain cleanliness of refrigeration equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, hear, and understand spoken English well enough to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to become Food Safety certified subject to UDF and state food safety regulations.
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment, including POS terminal, gas console, and price book.
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment and operate all store equipment safely.
- Ability to recognize denominations and accurately make change, including handling food stamps.
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves, displays, freezers, and milk cabinets safely.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet.
