Job Summary
">The Retail Food Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and stocked foodservice area at a United Dairy Farmers store. The incumbent must have knowledge of foodservice programs, product offerings, equipment, and the ability to train and manage other associates on duty during their shift.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains product availability for prepared food areas Monday-Friday, ensuring all products are correctly dated and food-safe.
- Stocks for foodservice products, condiments, supplies, and other components (either through completing orders or informing Management).
- Ensures cleanliness of smallwares, Fountain area, Hot Beverage area, cooler-refrigerated foods, and equipment.
- Works with management to ensure all associates are trained and able to execute all foodservice programs while on shift.
Responsibilities:
- Anticipates needs of Guests at all times, providing assistance to DipSide Guest Services: Preparation of shakes, malts, cups, cones of ice cream.
- Efficient Operation of Point-of-Sale (POS) System: control gas sales, accurately register all transactions, handling cash levels in the register.
- Stocking Merchandise: Keep shelves, displays, cooler, and freezers filled, ensuring proper rotation of stock and checking for out-of-code dates.
- Minimizes shoplifting and gas drive-offs, controls cash levels in the register.
Requirements:
- Ability to speak, hear, and understand spoken English well enough to communicate effectively with Guests and associates.
- Ability to become Food Safety certified subject to UDF and state food safety regulations.
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment, including POS terminal, gas console, check identification documents, and use price book.
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves, displays, freezers, milk cabinets, etc.
