Job Description:
A Technician at United Door and Dock will play a critical role in ensuring our clients' facilities remain functional, safe, and efficient. You will work hands-on with the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of commercial door and dock leveler equipment.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs on a daily basis
- Ability to work outdoors and at heights
- Have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills ● Can work independently as well as on a team
- Customer service skills
- 4-6 years of experience working on door and dock equipment
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience welding and working with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems ● Have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- Willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- This position is a union position; therefore, provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, repair, and install commercial and overhead doors, dock levelers, springs, cables and/or other hardware
- Assure quality by checking for proper installation, clearance and balance ● Perform all assigned maintenance on customer door and dock equipment ● Process paperwork upon completion of each job
- Act as a technical resource for customers when necessary
- Coordinate with our team to ensure job specifications and timelines are met ● Adhere to safety procedures and policies
