The Data Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and successful delivery of data-driven projects. Serving as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, this role ensures alignment on project scope, timely completion, and adherence to quality standards. By effectively managing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, storage solutions, and analytics tools, the Data Project Manager plays a critical role in driving efficient and impactful data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scope and Requirements Management: Define and control project scope to align with stakeholder needs, ensuring clear objectives while preventing scope creep.
- Scheduling and Timeline Oversight: Develop and manage project schedules to ensure milestones and deliverables are completed on time.
- Budget and Cost Optimization: Monitor and manage project expenses to maintain budgetary compliance while maximizing resource efficiency.
- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and address potential risks to safeguard project success.
- Stakeholder Communication and Management: Collaborate with business units, data scientists, and engineers to gather and prioritize requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications and actionable tasks, and ensure alignment on project goals and outcomes.
- Budget and Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources across projects to maximize efficiency while monitoring expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Technical Oversight and Guidance: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data infrastructure while collaborating with engineering teams to ensure adherence to data quality, security, and performance standards.
- Leadership and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans and lead cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts to drive collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Data Management and Quality Assurance: Oversee testing and validation of data pipelines and infrastructure for accuracy and reliability and maintain data consistency and reliability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project performance using key metrics and provide stakeholders with regular progress updates.
- Compliance and Security Management: Ensure data integrity, security, and quality by enforcing governance frameworks and regulatory compliance with standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- PMP Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in project management with 3-4 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, data storage solutions and SQL server
- Proficiency with cloud platforms, data marts, data modelling and big data technologies
- Familiarity with programming languages SQL, Java, Python
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, MS Project, Asana
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates adaptability to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines by leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience Managing enterprise ETL, and data warehouse projects
- Prior insurance experience

The below annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
Salary Range: $125,000 USD - $145,000 USD
