The United Educators Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with meaningful work experience within the insurance and education industries and provide United Educators (UE) with a diverse group of talented individuals for future long-term career opportunities. This year’s program will run from May 19, 2025 through August 2025.
As a UE intern in the Resolutions Department, your work will relate to litigation management on matters involving employment claims, academic dishonesty disciplinary proceedings, discrimination, retaliation, tenure denials, tort claims and/or accidents on campus. Your responsibilities may include performing legal research, evaluating insurance coverage, collaborating on liability assessments and the development of resolution strategies, identifying diverse defense counsel, and observing focus groups, mock trials, and/or mediations.

Qualifications:
- Professional, adaptable, and congenial attitude
- Willing to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Requirements:
- Current enrollment in a JD program
- Strong research skills including familiarity with LexisNexis
- Ability to analyze financial data

The below annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
