Position Summary
The Digital Power Technician is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical power management systems. This role supports installation teams, coordinates with contractors, and ensures accurate project execution from design to commissioning. The technician also provides service support for existing installations, generates necessary paperwork, and stays updated on electrical systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Commission, Troubleshoot and debug installation issues for various electrical power management systems
- Support installation personnel and provide information for other contractors on project site.
- Collaborate and communicate with staff to ensure the estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems is accurate.
- Coordinate projects with tech dispatch and installation contractors
- Document all start up processes for assigned projects including field service reports, check out logs, commissioning documents, etc. as required.
- Provide service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet current building occupancy codes and efficiently operate.
- Generate service work orders, times sheets, and other paperwork required in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to keep current on electrical power management systems.
- May be involved with troubling shooting in electrical circuits, adherence to NFPA 70E Standards.
- This position requires 80% overnight travel, 20% local.
- Perform other duties as obvious or assigned.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position
- Requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
- Highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
- Employees can expect to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, twist, and climb.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3-5 years of experience in EPMS and metering Systems; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience is required.
- Proficiency with basic IT Networking and technical software.
- Low voltage networking and power metering experience required.
- Mechanical or Electrical trade knowledge required.
- Understanding of computer networking.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server a plus.
- Computer Programming language knowledge beneficial.
