Position Summary:
The Lead Counter Sales Associate oversees the counter sales team, with management support, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient inventory management. Responsibilities include training staff, driving sales goals, resolving personnel issues, and coordinating with internal teams and manufacturers on promotions and product information. This role focuses on counter sales, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting team performance within budget.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the continuing education of all counter personnel,
- Review and improve operating policies and procedures. Ensure proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes.
- Recommend changes for staff members regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Resolve personnel issues.
- Support and guide fellow counter personnel in more complex phases of their training.
- Operate within the limits of the annual budget that is composed.
- Optimize sales and service efforts by ensuring inventory replenishment levels of counter area is correct.
- Assist and coach individuals in our Sales Trainee Program.
- Meet with manufacturing representatives to discuss new products, promotions, displays, and employee training.
- Exemplify and drive proactive sales efforts with counter employees and hold them accountable to their goal.
- Effectively communicate with appropriate internal departments all counter sales events, specials, and promotions.
- Provide exceptional service to all customers regarding pricing, orders, and information about products on their accounts.
- Work closely with internal departments, as needed, on special job bids from customers.
- Assist with cycle counting efforts at the branch.
- Perform other duties as obvious or assigned.
This is a safety sensitive position:
- May be required to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. several times a day, bend, twist, and climb.
- Must wear approved PPE and company logo shirts while on the clock.

- Complete an accident/Incident report for any safety and/or health infractions that occur or witnessed.

- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Customer Service Training/Experience is preferred
- Lead/Management experience preferred
- Industry product knowledge beneficial
