The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining world-class standards for the engineering of pre-cast building components. Through well-documented processes and procedures, they elevate the engineering department to new levels of industry excellence. They collaborate effectively with team members from diverse areas of expertise to ensure that the company is able to be the safest and most innovative precast building company.
Responsibilities
- Standards – Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish engineering standards and processes; develop engineering calculation standard procedures; identify, purchase, and implement technology to enhance capabilities.
- Maintenance – Manage ongoing maintenance and updates of standards; ensure that as changes in processes are implemented, appropriate training is complete.
- Auditing – Verify that engineering standards and processes are being followed by both internal and external engineers.
- Training – interview, onboard, and provide continuous training to engineering team.
- Collaboration – Reach across the organization (preconstruction, manufacturing, quality, project management, and construction) to ensure engineering expertise contributes safe, cost-effective, and efficient precast building.
- Research and Development – Participate in collaborative meetings and independent research to investigate new product possibilities and long-term growth opportunities for the company.
- Leadership – Provide mentorship to engineers; report performance wins and opportunities to the Manager of Design Service and assist in preparing for Performance Maximizer conversations.
- Engineering – Complete Project Engineer duties and responsibilities for the company’s projects as assigned.
